EMERCHEM special session
Monday June 1, 14:00-16:30, Room J Developing countries are faced with several notable problems with respect to chemicals management. To ensure a better understanding of these challenges, SETAC organized three international meetings in 2008 on Emerging Issues in Chemicals Management in Developing Countries (EMERCHEM) to identify emerging, high-priority, science-based issues related to chemical contaminants, chemicals management, and chemical safety. The meetings were held during the SETAC Annual Meetings in Warsaw, Sydney, and Tampa and their outcome is summarized in the SETAC EMERCHEM White Paper. This paper defines the domain of the EMERCHEM special session, which will be held at the SETAC Europe Annual Meeting in Göteborg on Monday June 1st at 14:00 in Room J. This session is open to everyone interested in the emerging chemical issues of greatest concern in developing countries and will be a great opportunity to have an open dialogue with others who share your passion for using Science to help institute best practices in chemical management in all countries regardless of economic status.
